It seemed like a life time ago since we first started our campaign of #flyingtheflagforwillenhall – 16th Feb 2014!
The idea for the Willenhall flag was a great opportunity to give our proud corner of the Black Country something to rally around. It was an opportunity for Willenhall folk to work together and literally Fly the Flag for our hometown marking our famous lock industry in the process.
A town flag will serve as a symbol for the community to rally around, raise awareness and
visibility of Willenhall further afield as well as promoting one of the many community
heritages that form the patchwork of national identity.

Once the project was agreed, budding artists from Willenhall, surrounding areas and further afield (overseas) a flood of entries were finally in including entries from local schools!
After weeks of work and more than 65 entries, a panel of judges sat down and shortlisted the entries to 6 desigins.
