Willenhall Town Football Club awarded the FA Charter Standard

Announcement made by WTFC Offical

Breaking News!
Willenhall Town Football Club is delighted to be able to confirm this evening that it has been awarded the FA Charter Standard, confirmed formally late this afternoon by Birmingham County FA.
The Charter Standard Programme looks to provide recognition to those clubs who:

Demonstrate good practice
Adhere to FA policies and procedures
Commit to Raising Standards

We will shortly receive our Award Pack, Certification, Plaque, Logo etc, but BCFA kindly shared with us late this afternoon that Willenhall Town Football Club have indeed been awarded the Charter Standard and can formally let everyone know – The Club has now been added to the list of those clubs who hold the award.

In time we aspire to progress through the different levels of the programme but this is for the Club and all those people now associated with the Club both on and off the pitch, managing and playing that we have turned a corner and begin to develop the Club beyond what it is and has been.

I would like to thank everyone who has contributed their views, opinions and time to achieving this Award, but in the main and with all due respect the Club is grateful to its Treasurer and Charter Standard Officer, Sharon Hall for her work in pulling everything together and in record time.

Thanks to all our advertisers, sponsors and pitchside advertisers including Mark Wright at Bloxwich Environmental Services, Louise Roberts at Avon, Maggie Palmer at Triple M Dance Academy and Aspray24, Imperial Locks, Croft Architectural, Auction House, Dynatech and Willenhall Rotary Club and The Extracare Charitable Trust.
This season we have consolidated our Club, we are stronger than possibly in the last decade and now have a vision of the future, rather than the past.
We have new volunteers joining us next season in the form of Tracey Clift, & Liam Ruby and a number of others in the pipeline and we also thank Ian Wale and Hughie Moran, Chris Burton and Steve Bagby.
We also welcome Commercial Manager John Luxton who is forming part of our new management structure at Board level and also welcome Russell Eynon at Emco for his swift and excellent work on our IT and Social Media provision.
We celebrate a dramatic improvement in our disciplinary record and that we are beginning to reconnect with the people of Willenhall slowly but surely.
All in all a cracking night, Maggie, Georgie and the girls at Triple M added a really different and fun element to the night with their showcase of Charleston, Burlesque, and Can-Can and it went down REALLY well, we also had Willenhall’s Carnival Queen Natalie Slaney who assisted with presentations.
Thanks as ever to Kalie Kaur at Willenhallaywe.co.uk for her continued support and photography work and for her sneeky work with Lisa Ruby and the beautiful picture presented to us.
I could go on all day really (how annoying) but you all know who you are and you all know what you do player, captain, manager, volunteer, sponsor, advertiser- we are hugely appreciative of your commitment to us and we look to the future with excitement.
Thanks all.”

The WTFC battle has begun under new leadership

“WILLENHALL TOWN 1 WELLINGTON 1
West Midlands Premier Division
WILLENHALL produced a battling performance to earn a point at home to mid-table Wellington in new boss Matt Whitehouse’s first game in charge – and with a bit of luck, it could have been all three.
Whitehouse had taken just one training session before the game but saw little reason to make major changes, although several players returned to the fold.”

New Manager for WTFC

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT.
I am delighted to announce that we have secured a management arrangement to take the Club through to the end of the season. Matt Whitehouse joins us as Manager, having previously been player and Head Coach. He will be assisted by Assistant Manager Mark Cox who also has been with the Club previously and comes with much experience. I am highly pleased that we have managed to secure a practical and sensible arrangement so swiftly and hope that all players and supporters will join myself and Sharon in welcoming Matt and Mark back to the Club. Thanks for your support.

WTFC – Statement

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Following conversations today, Neil Perks has decided to step down as Manager of Willenhall Town Football Club.

Managing a football team is not easy and often underestimated by many and work and family commitments mean that Neil can no longer continue with his role in this very challenging season.

Neil has put in many hours of hard graft during his time with us and this is greatly appreciated by the management committee and this work has not just been on the pitch.

The Club wishes Neil well and also thanks his wife Hannah for her support during Neil’s tenure with the Club. We wish them both well and of course their children.

During the course of the next 24/48 hours I will will be looking at arrangements to carry us through to the end of the season. Announcements of the format these will take will follow in due course.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and of course continued support.
